There is some fantastic Savannah shopping that visitors often miss because it’s not on Broughton, or River Street. Nope, this shopping is right off of Forsyth on Whitaker Street in Savannah’s Downtown Design District. Just a couple of skips from the Drayton and Waldburg Savannah Vacation Rentals properties, this little (otherwise undiscovered) gem is perfect. Take an afternoon stroll through the park and make sure to stop in this small village of shops.

La Paperie

La Paperie is Savannah’s go-to shop for everything paper. It’s the perfect place to find a personalized gift for a friend, a loved one, or even yourself! They’ve got travel journals (a great way to keep memoirs of your trip to Savannah), unique wrapping, stationery… the works.

Many of their giftscan be personalized. La Paperie offers custom embossers, stamps, and designer stationery.

For a more historic gift, check out their CartieraAmatrudaAmalfi stationery. The paper is made using ancient artisan traditions in the Amatruda paper mill in Amalfi, Italy. Each piece is adorned with a watermark to show authenticity.

Number Four Eleven has been open since 2006. Here you’ll find gorgeous linens, accessories, furniture, and gifts. It’s a great place to find a one of a kind gift. Impress your friends by adding heirloom quality personalized monogramming to your gift.

French Knot

The French Knot opened in November 2009, and is a dream for needle workers. They specialize in embroidery and needlepoint, but also offer finished work, classes,finishing, and custom designs.

Custard is a women’s clothing store that also carries shoes, accessories, and gifts in a diverse range of styles. The staff is happy to help put together one outfit or build an entire wardrobe. Custard prides itself in helping women show off their best assets and above all, they like to keep fashion fun!

James Hogan

James Hogan opened in 2004. This clothing store carries fine American and European designers (like Etro, Piazza Sempione, Charles Chang Lima). They also offer their own custom couture collections, which are handcrafted from the finest fabrics.

One Fish Two Fish

One Fish Two Fish offers bedding, jewelry, books, furniture, and gifts. National magazines have featured this store regularly as a not-to-be-missed shopping destination in Savannah.

Mercer House Carriage Shop

The Mercer House was designed by New York architect John Norris for General Hugh Mercer (great grandfather of Johnny Mercer). The house was previously only open to benefit local historic and charitable organizations, but since its restoration has been open to the public.

The Mercer House Carriage Shop offers patrons a chance to get close to the famous house while shopping! They carry gifts, home accessories, stationery, antiques, and books.
