Savannah GetAWay & Golf Trip

The Norris Cook House was well situated to activities and found it well appointed for our needs. When we were at the house we were mainly in the courtyard enjoying drinks and the fountain. We did the horse carriage ride and Lady & Sons restaurant. The men enjoyed golf at Bacon Hill and Savannah Golf Club at the Westin. The 10,000 step tour was nice if you are up for it. We would stay at the Norris Cook House again.
Manager Response:
We are delighted you enjoyed it, Nell. Thank you for the great feedback. Come back soon!

My family had a fabulous time staying in this lovely restored historic home. It was a short walk to the ferry to the convention center to attend QuiltCon. After a day of walking around beautiful Savannah we enjoyed sitting on the front porch and watching horse drawn carriages go by. Nearby is a great butcher shop where we were able to buy everything we needed for our dinner, and it was especially nice to have a grill and an outdoor table. We would definitely stay here again.

We are delighted you enjoyed your stay, Sarah. We look forward to your next trip to Savannah!

Great location to explore Savannah

Comfortable accommodations in a great location. Most everything within walking distance. Kitchen well-equipped, nice shower with good water pressure, comfortable beds with quality linens provided. Wifi fairly strong and reliable. Only complaints would be: need for a better television, the one in the house is quite small and dated; need for a bose-type sound dock for iphones and such devices to play music; and there should be an on-street parking pass provided as part of the rental fee.
Manager Response:
We are delighted you enjoyed your stay, Daniel, and found the home comfortable. We have passed your suggestions on to the property owner, and hopefully he will update the electronics. As off street parking is included with the rental of this home, we do not provide parking passes. Many properties, and apartments even in Savannah don't include Parking as a rule. We apologize for this being inconvenient. We hope you will return, and we look forward to providing you with a 5 star stay next time!

We loved the city as well as the Norris Cook house. The only bad thing with the house is that Internet service was promised but non existent. We could not connect, which was very frustrating since three out of four guests needed constant service and had to go elsewhere to connect.

We have been to Savannah several times and this was the first time that we rented a home there, I was so happy we found this rental it's in the perfect location, we were in walking distance to down town and to the shops and restaurants. The street the house is on was quiet and had ample parking. The house was just as nice if not nicer then the photos we saw was very cleaned and well stocked with everything we needed. We will be staying there again in the spring! I also had a great experience with the rental agency.
Manager Response:
We are delighted you enjoyed your vacation home, Kimberly. Thank you for the great feedback! We are excited for your return visit to Savannah.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this historic home. The home overlooked one of the charming Savannah squares and was walking distance to everything we wanted to do. The trolley tour route came right by the house. We were concerned that parking might be troublesome, but there were plenty of parking spaces metered and unmetered spots around the square and along the side streets in addition to the off-street spot included with the rental. The kitchen was well appointed and we found everything we needed and more. We were very comfortable in the home. It appeared that the property was well looked after. We would stay there again.

Staying at the Norris Cook house made for a very relaxing and enjoyable first time getaway to Savannah. The location could not have been better and the accommodations were perfect for two couples. We arrived later it gets evening and had no problem getting into the rental house. There was a small off-street parking spot right behind the house, but our large SUV fit right in the space. Located on a quiet square, the house was very charming on the inside. House was very clean and well stocked with everything you need. There were 4 adults in our group and we were all quite comfortable. Several restaurants and tourist locations within walking distance. I would highly recommend one of Savannah's trolley tours to familiarize yourself with the city. We like to stay off the beaten path and found the riverside walk a little too touristy. Tybee Island is a must see and just a short drive away. We were very sad to leave our little house in Savannah! Looking forward to our next trip!

What a perfect house for a reunion. The location is amazing and the house is in perfect condition. My only complaint is that we had 5 people and the house really only sleeps 4. The pull-out couch is broken and you can rent a blowup or bring your own, but there isn't much space to put a bed without occupying the main living areas. I'd highly recommend this house for parties of 4 and under.

We were moved here after arriving at another property we found unacceptable. This house is all that you'd want in Savannah. Beautifully restored, lovely furnishings, giant kitchen. The sofabed mattress needs to be replaced, it's eons old. Wall air conditioners in the bedrooms definitely help with temps as the central air only gets down so far. Cute private patio with outdoor dining set. Located on a lovely square. The on-off trolleys stop nearby or you can walk to River Street from here. Sadly the top porch is closed off, railing doesn't meet code. Wish they'd raise the railing so we could enjoy it.

Conveniently located home, comfortable furniture and beds. We had a wonderful stay as we love old homes. Ate our way through Savannah. As advertised the heating and cooling is a little problematic. We arrived with temperatures in the twenties. Lower floor warmed up to only 61 while the upstairs was hot. After a weather warm-up, we could get it adjusted to reasonable temps. ISP slow and not very reliable but we didn't care. Had a great stay.

We loved the house. It was clean. I just felt it needed a little upkeep and TLC. It was in a good location, The kitchen was updated and stocked with plenty of things for cooking, eating, etc. The upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms were very spacious considering it is a historic home. Linens, towels and beds were high quality. It was calming when the morning sunlight came into the front windows of the home.We loved the front porch and back courtyard. The property management was average though. They were hard to reach and weren't super responsive. I was disappointed about that.

From the original enquiry, through booking, arrival to leaving at the end of our stay, everything was first class. All our enquiries and problems were dealt with quickly and efficiently. The main bedroom could do with a larger wardrobe and the second bedroom would benefit from the washing machine and dryer being moved to the kitchen where there is plenty room. The house is in a good central location in the beautiful city of is easy ,even for us elderly folk to walk to most areas of the old city. The house itself is very comfortable and well appointed, with seating area in the small secluded garden which also has room for parking one car, very handy. We spent 7 very happy days in Savannah last week and would not hesitate to recommend this property and its management to everyone.

We absolutely loved our vacation. This makes the 3rd time visiting Savannah. The Norris Cook House was beautiful. We especially enjoyed sitting on the porch in the mornings and late evenings watching the horses and carriages come by either going to City Market or back to the stables. The Green Square across from us was so nice to sit on one of the many benches and enjoy the people with their dogs walking. Our car was conveniently parked behind the gates so we walked everywhere. It was very easy to do because we were within walking distance of everything. The riverfront being only 3 blocks from the house was great. It was truly a Savannah vacation to remember because of where we chose to stay. Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay in this fine home.

My husband and I made our first visit to Savannah and stayed at the Norris Cook House. The photos on the web site did not lie. The house was just lovely. The space was probably much more than the two of us needed but it was great having the extra space. It was indeed centrally located. We did not rent a car but opted to walk everywhere and we certainly did. We managed to see all 21 or 22 squares and wandered into several of the museums. The temps were quite high and it was humid but we made the best of things. Took lots of showers for sure. All in all everything was wonderful. We hope to come back in the future. Thank you for everything. Marsha was just great allowing us to extend our stay a little longer. Very much appreciated.

We had a wonderful time in Savannah. This home was great for our family of 6. We loved that we could walk to everything. Our only issue was that after driving all day from Illinois...we arrived late at night and went to prepare the sofa bed for our son to sleep on and there were no sofa bed linens in the house. We were able to quickly get a hold of the management company, and they supplied bedding the next day...we declined having them come that evening as it was past eleven and we just wanted to sleep. Later in the week we received an email from the owner of the management company who agreed to issue a partial credit for that night stay, per our request. Just want to let everyone know that you need to request bedding for the sofa bed...they only supplied bedding for 2 beds.Overall, the home had everything we needed and again the location was fantastic. Our children loved the green space across the street to run around and burn their energy!

The home was rented for a week. The Norris Cook House provided the perfect environment for rest and relaxation. The home is in close proximity to many tourist attractions and several Savannah sights. The stay was pleasant and provided several comforting amenities that you can't find in a hotel, inn or bed and breakfast. Greene Square, where the home is located, is one of the smaller squares in Savannah, which is just perfect. There is less foot/tourist traffic than the other squares. This made for more enjoyable evenings at the home with friends and family. The home gave you the feeling of living in Historic Savannah in the middle of a real neighborhood. Very close to the historic riverfront and a nice leisurely walk to many of the tourist attractions and beautiful Forsyth Park. We cooked at home several evenings, hosted dinner guest from the area and enjoyed morning tea on the front porch and in the back court yard. If you are spending a significant amount of time in Savannah (more than two days) the Norris Cook House is the perfect accommodation. Very clean, well decorated and equipped with all the comforts of home.

When we arrived, the air conditioning was very slow to come on. After 3 hours of not cooling, I called the office to see if everything was OK with the system and the person who assisted was unfriendly and didn't seem to want to be bothered. On my first morning waking up, I discovered someone's dental floss on the floor that wasn't mine or my husband's (it had a handle & we use regular). On our last night, I was walking through the living room barefoot and stepped on a shard of glass. No major complaints but disappointing enough for me to look elsewhere next time.

I asked my husband the first night that we were in the Norris Cook House if he was okay with our accommodations since he had never before stayed in a VRBO. His response was "I love it! It's one of the favorite places that we have ever stayed." The house was perfect for two couples looking to spend time together but also wanting to have our own privacy. We enjoyed breakfasting in the comfortable kitchen and planning our day seated at the kitchen table. In the evening we could leisurely visit in the living room before adjurning to our individual bedrooms and baths. The house was nicely appointed and very clean. It is an older, remodeled home that was perfect for a Savannah vacation as it made us feel as if we were truly embracing historic Savannah. The weather did not cooperate with our getaway but the Norris Cook House made the vacation very worthwhile.

Wonderful to see the activity at the church next door and wake up to church bells on Sunday morning. Parking area was tight but nice to have during the day. Mgmt team very helpful. Can't wait to go back

Went down to Savannah for the first time with my Fiance and her family and couldn't imagine a better trip than at the Norris Cook House. Nicely situated on quite Green Square, we were within walking distance to all major restaurants, City Market, & the River. We only used our car once to visit the Out skirts of Savannah and the Mall. I would highly suggest this property!

The Norris Cook house is beautiful and very nicely appointed. The area is good for getting around town. We did a lot of walking and sightseeing.Take a bus or trolley tour from the visitors center. Shop around for the best price form the different companies. There were a few people around the house- across the street in Green square and also at the bus stop near the house that raised suspicion. Nobody did anything to bother us.They just made us feel a little uneasy. We ate at the Pirates House and would not recommend it! Food was not great and the lighting was terrible. This was our second trip to Savannah and we plan to go back again some day. It's a beautiful city.

We had a very nice time and enjoyed the house. We were able to walk to many of the local attractions and restaurants. House was clean and we slept like babies.

We have been to Savannah several times and stayed in hotels. This time since we were being joined by my adult daughter from Colorado we decided to try renting instead of getting two hotel rooms. It was the best decision we have made in a long time. The house was perfect for us. It was a lovely place for all of us to stretch out and get comfortable when we were home. The location was perfect so we just parked the car and walked everywhere we wanted to go. The master bathroom was a real treat with the giant jacuzzi tub and spa shower. I have already recommended the Norris Cook house to all of my friends who might be going to Savannah any time soon. It was the perfect place for the three of us and gave the feel of a real Savannah experience. I highly recommend the Norris Cook House.

This house exceeded all my expectations - it was perfect in every way. I look forward to my next trip to Savannah and hope to secure this home again. Just one suggestion - would love to see some historical info included about the house itself.... and who WAS Norris Cook? Never could find any info on him (or them, if it was named for two owners). But overall, this was the perfect setting (on Greene Square), close to all the best sights to see, which contributed to an enjoyable, memorable experience.

overall the visit was good. I was a little disappointed with the chech in process. I have rented many times in savannah and the landlord has always contacted ME a day or so before my arrival. I had to contact them the night before I left to find out what to do. I had alot going on with my family coming in from around the country and it would have been nice to know what to expect. The location was perfect. When we arrived the house was very hot, no a/c on to make it at least a little comfortable. As luck would have it, we arrived earlier than planned, so we turned on the air and left until things cooled down. If we hadn't arrived early we would have had a hard time going to bed upstairs in the heat.

Fantastic house in a fantastic location!!!

My wife, 3yo son and I stayed at the Norris Cook House over the weekend and were extremely happy with everything from the location to the amenities to the comfortable size of the nicely decorated old cottage. Great place and very professional service from Manderly. We will definitely stay again during our next visit to Savannah!!!

We just completed a four-day stay with another couple at the Norris Cook house. It was conveniently located (walking distance to most places, we just left the car in the off-street parking spot). It was very clean and well appointed and we really enjoyed the outdoor patio to sit and catch up with our friends. Savannah Dream Vacations was wonderful to work with, Manderly responded promptly to all queries, even on weekends. We would definitely rent from them again.
